Hala Sarhan’s Shame about Muhammad
I wrote a previous essay about Hala Sarhan and discussed her shocking response upon learning that Muhammad, the so called prophet of Islam, urged women to breast-feed strangers so that they do not have sex with them. I described how this woman was devastated when the Muslim cleric, whom she invited to her show, told her that she should breast-feed her cook, her driver and her hair stylist so that she would not have sex with them. Hala Sarhan supposedly attained a high educational status and naturally, the talk about breast feeding was very alien to her. She then decided to open a new subject in her latest show: Sex and marriage in Islam. She invited another Muslim cleric who clearly explained that Islam turns women into a sex object. He said that men can marry many women but women cannot do the same. He told her that polygamy is a good idea because it allows women to be protected by men. Hala listened silently as this man kept infantilizing women. She had no problem with the fact that women are treated like a helpless child who needs the protection of a powerful figure. Hala’s education did not help her and her blind faith in a perverted prophet prevented her from questioning the fairness and justice of such a patriarchic religion. There was a glimpse of hope when one of her guests asked why Muhammad did not allow Ali, his son in law to marry another wife in addition to his daughter. However, they thought that Muhammad was a good man because he did not allow that. Alas, they forgot that he did it himself and kept 10 women at the same women. These women were clinging to any indication that Muhammad was humane and understanding, but they could not recognize that he was a sex manic who humped every woman he liked, including a 9-years-old and his daughter in law.
The question is: Why these women are so blind and why they can not see Muhammad for who is? Why do they cling to a religion who treats them like a sex object and to a prophet who only saw them as vaginas? Why do educated Muslim women continue to believe in a religion that clearly infantilize and marginalize them? The answer is clear. When society tells you that you are inferior and weak all the time, you believe it and you conduct your life from that perspective. Muslim women are so afraid of screaming for their rights because they do believe that they are inferior and weak. When Muslim women break these societal and Islamic shackles we may have hope.

Ya know your post merely confirms what I suspected: Islam has ironocally preserved the social mores of the Ancient world. One that despised women and killed them, married them off at early ages and bsically couldn't care less about them.
To be forthright, the only way for Moslem women to break their psychological bondage is to hear the gospel.

Nasser was a member of islamic brotherhood, Egypt's most militant and danegrous islamic group. The liberal period before the so called revolution was the only era where Egypt experienced true democracy.

If you were fair-minded and rational as you claim, why don't start reading serious books about the dark history of Christianity in the Middle Ages in Europe, read about the popes and the atrocities they had committed, read about the Inquistion. I advise to spend half the time you seem to spend on the Internet digging up dirt about Mohammed to read serious history books not online crap, which is a waste of time.
As for the poor Muslim women degraded by Islam, I would like you to worry more about Coptic women who are not exaclty the epitomisation of emancipation. Tell us something--if you have the courage and the knowledge--about the patriarchal Coptic church and women's rights under its oppressive rule.

To all of you who wrote those comments about Islam and those 'poor women' of Islam and Prophet Mohamed(PBUH), please read more or at least make an effort to be knowledgeable about somehting before you sprout nonsence.
To the person who said that Prophet Mohamed was a pervert. Did you know that the prophet first married at the age of 25 to a women who was 15 his senior and had already had some children from a previous marriage?? He remained married to her and only her for 25 years (and he did not have extra marital activities)? After he passed away, for two years, he didn't remarry and when he married, he married a very old women to provide for her. Every other marriage that followed was for political reasons to secure the procession of Islam afterward.
yes, it's true that he married 14 women to be exact. But if you look at the other prophets (aside from Christ) the occurence of multiple wives was normal for prophets.
As for muslim women, please don't feel sorry for us. We don't want your pity nor do we deserve it. I find myself respected and have all the freedom and protection needed.
I soppose you equilize freedom with the amount of clothes a woman wears. the less she wear the more free she is. I am guessing you're with the exhibitionism streak that the rage now in Europe and US.

polygamy was there before islam and women had no rights to inherit and posess anything. They were treated like nothing and what islam did is that it came and preserved their rights. Islam gave women access to possess lans and inherit and many other things. Islam also ordered its followers from men to not get married unless there is a good reason and hen its there, islam also ordered those who are married to more than one to treat them equally.
