Muhammad: Kill Women and Children of Infidels
What can I say? This official web site from the Saudi government is freaking me out. Here is a hadeeth (oral tradition) proving that Muhammad ordered the merciless killing of Women and Children who happened to be “infidels.” I am sick tired of being harassed by circumcised Muslim women coming to my site and telling me that their prophet was a good man. Yes he is a good man for them because he killed all these helpless victims. Here is the hadeeth :
صحيح مسلم Sahih Muslim 3281
و حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى وسعيد بن منصور وعمرو الناقد جميعا عن ابن عيينة قال يحيى أخبرنا سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن عبيد الله عن ابن عباس عن الصعب بن جثامة قال
سئل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الذراري من المشركين يبيتون فيصيبون من نسائهم وذراريهم فقال هم منهم
صحيح مسلم بشرح النووي
قوله : ( سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الذراري من المشركين يبيتون فيصيبون من نسائهم وذراريهم فقال : هم منهم )
هكذا هو في أكثر نسخ بلادنا ( سئل عن الذراري ) وفي رواية : ( عن أهل الدار من المشركين ) ونقل القاضي هذه عن رواية جمهور رواة صحيح مسلم قال : وهي الصواب , فأما الرواية الأولى فقال : ليست بشيء , بل هي تصحيف , قال : وما بعده هو تبيين الغلط فيه , قلت : وليست باطلة كما ادعى القاضي بل لها وجه , وتقديره : سئل عن حكم صبيان المشركين الذين يبيتون فيصاب من نسائهم وصبيانهم بالقتل , فقال : هم من آبائهم أي لا بأس بذلك ; لأن أحكام آبائهم جارية عليهم في الميراث وفي النكاح وفي القصاص والديات وغير ذلك , والمراد إذا لم يتعمدوا من غير ضرورة .
وأما الحديث السابق في النهي عن قتل النساء والصبيان , فالمراد به إذا تميزوا , وهذا الحديث الذي ذكرناه من جواز بياتهم وقتل النساء والصبيان في البيات , هو مذهبنا ومذهب مالك وأبي حنيفة والجمهور .
ومعنى ( البيات , ويبيتون )
أن يغار عليهم بالليل بحيث لا يعرف الرجل من المرأة والصبي .
وأما ( الذراري )
فبتشديد الياء وتخفيفها لغتان , التشديد أفصح وأشهر , والمراد بالذراري هنا النساء الصبيان .
وفي هذا الحديث : دليل لجواز البيات , وجواز الإغارة على من بلغتهم الدعوة من غير إعلامهم بذلك .
وفيه : أن أولاد الكفار حكمهم في الدنيا حكم آبائهم , وأما في الآخرة ففيهم إذا ماتوا قبل البلوغ ثلاثة مذاهب :
الصحيح : أنهم في الجنة .
والثاني : في النار .
والثالث : لا يجزم فيهم بشيء . والله أعلم .

I've heard about things like this from a man I used to work w/, who was Muslim... but I've never heard anyone since say these things and show examples. I converted to Islam and am rethinking it... I must admit.

In one of the most celebrated hadiths of the prophet mohammed (saw), he said 'iyakom wa qatlu al nisa'a wal atfal' = 'don't u dare kill the women and children'. This hadith is among 500 other hadiths that are regarded with the highest esteem and are at the level of the quran in terms of authenticity.
If that hadith is, as you say, indicating to killing women and children, then it is null and void in front of this one.

Even if this is true, the process of abrogation renders the entire Qur'an null and void, since you cannot trust a so-called prophet who keeps on changing his opinion on things like murder and killing. It cannot both be right and wrong. The process of abrogation, which is what you mean, proves Islam is false. Even Allah admits to changing his mind whenever he felt like it. Can you trust a "god" like that? How do you know you are doing right by him, if he keeps on changing his demands, commandments? Christianity has it easy with "Thou shalt not kill (or murder)" - Islam has nothing remotely that simple. If Mohammad believes there is justification for killing people - whoever they are, in whatever circumstance - then he is evil, ergo he is false.
